Over the years, they have transformed a rural site into a vibrant, relaxed, and quietly joyful garden, shaped by flowing curves, continual learning, and a deep respect for the surrounding vistas. Inspired by gardens across New Zealand and overseas, the space has been thoughtfully reimagined while keeping its magnificent views firmly in focus. Sculptures by Jane and Tom are woven throughout the garden, while Jane’s studio showcases works for sale and hosts workshops during the garden festival. The garden continues to evolve, with new picking beds providing inspiration for still life works and seasonal flowers for local use. Open throughout the year, The Top Cottage invites visitors to slow down, settle into the sun-soaked veranda, and enjoy the creativity, colour, and calm the garden has to offer.
